In the telecommunications sector, due to the increasing planning problems and public objections to new towers and monopoles, dual use structures are beneficial. Street furniture, such as lampposts are traditionally accepted structures in an urban environment. Therefore, lampposts with shrouded antennas are a possible solution.

There are many other potential solutions, such as telegraph poles, signage supports or even sculptures. FLI can supply such solutions pre-rigged and mounted on roots for ease of installation.

Boat Mast

Boat mast structures similar to the one shown are often found around ports, marinas and other areas with maritime connections. This is a good example of a traditionally accepted feature structure that we have modified so that it can support antennas.

This boat mast structure will give you planning permission where before it was impossible. It looks elegant and will blend in to seaside or waterside settings.

The mast is manufactured from square and circular hollow section to a height of 14m with the antenna (either 3 No Micro-Cell panel antennas concealed by a GRP shroud or a drum antenna) mounted around a surmounted top pole, giving a total height of 16m. Special heights can be produced on request.
