Drone Detection and Communications Towers

FLI lattice towers provide elevated structural support for drone detection, counter-UAS, communications and surveillance equipment across defence installations, critical infrastructure and security-sensitive sites.

Working with system integrators and equipment suppliers, FLI develops tower configurations to meet coverage requirements, equipment loads, mounting heights, site constraints and environmental conditions.

Structures can accommodate multiple antennas, RF equipment, sensor arrays and detection systems, with headframes, antenna poles, platforms, cable management and access systems tailored to equipment layouts.

Whether using an existing lattice tower design or a project-specific one, FLI can allow for future equipment upgrades.

CCTV, Perimeter Security and Surveillance Monopoles

FLI monopoles provide a compact structural solution for CCTV, perimeter surveillance and site security systems across defence estates and critical infrastructure.

Available in a range of heights, of up to 30m, and loading capacities, monopoles can accommodate cameras, antennas and associated detection equipment, with project-specific mounting arrangements where required.

Foundation options include screw piles, steel grillages and kentledge systems.

Radar Towers

FLI designs, manufactures and installs towers and monopoles for radar applications in the UK and overseas, including defence and surveillance installations in remote and exposed locations.

Structures can be engineered around radar equipment loads, mounting interfaces, access requirements and site-specific environmental conditions.

Temporary and Rapid Deployment Towers

FLI modular temporary towers, available up to 30m in height, can support temporary communications, surveillance and detection equipment where permanent structures are unsuitable.

With steel kentledge foundations removing the requirement for piling or concrete, systems can accommodate associated equipment cabinets and generators, and be dismantled and redeployed between sites.

Foundations

FLI designs and manufactures foundation systems for towers, monopoles and equipment support structures across permanent and temporary installations.

Options include screw pile foundations, driven piles, steel grillages and kentledge systems, with foundation design considering structural loading, ground conditions, access and installation constraints.

Alternative foundation systems can reduce excavation, concrete, heavy plant requirements and ground disturbance at remote, restricted-access and sensitive sites.

Design, Manufacture and Installation

FLI provides structural design, manufacture, foundations and installation for defence, radar, surveillance and drone detection infrastructure.

Our engineers can work with system integrators, equipment suppliers and project teams using equipment loads, mounting interfaces and site data to select an existing FLI structure or develop a project-specific solution.

Applications include:

  • Counter-UAS and drone detection
  • Radar and sensor systems
  • Air and maritime surveillance
  • Perimeter and site security
  • Communications and antenna systems
  • Critical infrastructure monitoring
  • Temporary and rapidly deployed systems
