Global Design Checks & Structural Analysis.

As FLI Structures owns the designs for both the FLI and Alan Dick Towers and Masts telecom tower ranges, the company is uniquely positioned to offer the most comprehensive and well-informed Global Design Checks (GDCs) available.

In addition to supplying the full range of Alan Dick broadcast towers, FLI can survey and analyse existing telecom lattice towers and masts to assess the feasibility of adding equipment or extending structures. This includes determining whether strengthening is required, developing appropriate solutions, assessing foundation stability and undertaking detailed condition surveys.

Strengthening

With full in-house design, fabrication and installation capabilities, FLI Structures can deliver comprehensive solutions for essential upgrading and strengthening works. On many projects, the introduction of additional equipment requires structural strengthening and the provision of new mounting steelwork.

Upgrade works can also include recoating and painting, bolt replacement, staircase, ladder and platform installations, the addition of anti-climb or fall-arrest systems, and remedial repairs to existing structures.

5G Headframe Development

5G antennas and associated ancillary equipment are larger and heavier than those used for previous generations of communications, requiring larger headframes on existing towers.

FLI Structures has developed a range of 5G headframes for both lattice towers and monopoles, utilising yoke, double-ring and triple-ring configurations. These planning-friendly solutions are designed to accommodate both current and future loading requirements and incorporate working platforms to enhance rigging crew safety at height. Spatial separation of active and passive antennas allows maintenance activities to be carried out with minimal or no network outages.
