Case Study:

Durham Pipe Bridge

Client:                   North East Water
Contractor:          ESH / Stantec JV
Project Value:     £835K
Scope Of Work:  Design, supply and install of a 102m long steel pipe bridge,

                               on screw pile foundations.

FLI was responsible for the full design, manufacture and installation of a 102m long pipe bridge for North East Water, incorporating an integrated foundation / superstructure. The scope included the design of concrete-free screw pile foundations supporting ten columns, a lightweight steel bridge structure to accommodate a complex multi-directional pipe layout, and measures to minimise the environmental impact across sloped terrain and a sensitive watercourse.

The integrated foundation and bridge design streamlined site preparation, while anti-climb deterrents ensured a secure, robust solution.
