This was a full island platform replacement, meaning installation without a possession was not feasible. All demolition and installation works were completed within a single Christmas possession.
The screw pile foundations were installed concurrently with the demolition of the existing failed platform, maximising the efficiency of the available access window.
The new structure was delivered in pre-assembled sections and lifted into position. Platform panel falls were then adjusted using FLI’s patent-pending, all-steel, fire-proof mountings.
The platform was fully installed, aligned and opened to the public at the end of the holiday period.
