FLI executed a helicopter-assisted installation of a 40m ATS1301 tower at Glen Creran for BT in two phases, reducing assembly time and on-site risk.
Traditional splice plates require temporary steelwork and extensive extra manual work.
FLI's innovation of welded flanges on the tower leg ends, removed the need for temporary steelwork, halving assembly time while maintaining full splice capacity. This approach enabled safe, rapid installation over two days, improved adaptability for taller complex towers and delivered a technically robust efficient solution.
